With a good swell running and a spring high tide, the beach breaks of Kommetjie were on.
This is not my favorite place in the world to shoot surfing, as the wave does not give the surfers enough power to express themselves fully. This means it is difficult to get impressive shots that have that “wow” factor and the light generally sucks!
However, there were a number of peaks breaking along the beach coupled with some of the best surfers in South Africa, there was sure to be an impressive show.
And it was!
