JBAY pro season 2011

July sees the ASP world Tour head to the sleep Town of Jefferys Bay for the annual Billabong Pro competition.

In the Run up to the event J-Bay had seen some of the best swell in living memory. For days the swell poured in. It was like someone had left the tap open.
I resisted the urge to follow a couple swells thinking it may be a better bet when the pro’s arrive. Big Mistake!

It was like someone turned the tap off and turned it tight. The swell was nowhere too be seen as the Pro’s jetted in to town. There were real concerns that the Event would not have enough waves to finish in it allotted 10day-waiting period. It was a shocker!

There was some free surfing between heats, mostly due to the fact that the swell was too inconsistent to run the heats. When the guys hit the water , the Ripped. It always is a mind blowing experience to watch these guys surf, no matter what the conditions
