Dylan Lightfoot

Nothing irritates me more than a surfer that is unable or unwilling to work to my creative vision.
Dylan is NOT one of those surfers!

Dylan Lightfoot is a 17 year old, natural foot surfer from J-Bay.
He is highly talented and an awesome, down to earth person out of the water. These 2 characteristics of the young surfer make him one of the most enjoyable surfers to shoot with.

I recently caught up with Dyl for a quick chat.

(me) Why surfing?

(dyl) I enjoy being in the ocean!
Surfing a wave presents me with endless possibilities. No two waves are the same and I can do what I want, when I want on one.

Best Surfing Memory?

Anytime I am surfing my home break with my mates.

What does it mean to be a surfer?

To me, it means enjoying the freedom of riding a wave.
Being a surfer and enjoying my natural surroundings has made me more environmentally conscious and I feel it is important to preserve the environment I enjoy in any small way.

Earliest surfing memory?

My first barrel at main beach! To this day it is a pretty vivid memory

SUPER TUBES! J-Bay

Kuta reef, Bali

What are your best results?

Rip Curl international grom search 2012 Winner!
2nd place U/16 at World junior surfing games 2011!

What does it mean to represent your country?

It is a massive honor!
A very prestigious accolade

Besides surfing, what else do you enjoy?

I love spending time with my friends and family.
I also enjoy training for surfing and a little bit of motorbike riding

Future plans?

Finish school.
Hit the pro Junior tour then move to the World Qualifying tour and hopefully qualify for the World championship tour soon after.
